Dedication to William Joseph Bonica

To our beloved William.  We shared many moments of joy.  Your cousin Hans is so glad both his sons got to meet you.  Some day we'll join you in the Great Gig in the Sky.  Keep the stage warm for us...

I was one of Will's instructors at The Art Institute and just learned of his passing. I am so sorry to hear this and my condolences go out to his family. I cannot find any information about his death, nor about a memorial. Can you share anything or let me know where I can get more information?

I cannot imagine how hard this is for Will's family. I only knew him as one of my students at the Art Institute Seattle, and really enjoyed all my interactions with him. Will was so thoughtful, and always so professional. I was so saddened to hear this, I still cannot believe this is true. My heart goes out to his family. Much peace and love. Surtida

I am stunned and saddened by the news of Will's passing. We worked together on a number of projects and he was a frequent visitor to my office from day one. He was a generous soul, and actually liked my jokes. More importantly, he really cared about his education and his peers as well. We will miss him terribly. Best to his family and friends from his academic family.

I am devastated to hear the news of Will's passing. As a fellow student, I know I can say on behalf of our community we have lost a great light in our hallways and classrooms. Will had a beautiful soul and a never ending smile. He was talented and passionate and always willing to share his knowledge with others. My condolences go out to you, his family, in this difficult time. I just hope you know that you had an amazing son that made a difference in the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in our hearts.

I am so sad, this morning, to learn of Will's passing. As one of his fellow students over the last few years, I've shared many classes with him and count myself lucky to have worked with him. Will had such a positive energy and was always sincere and welcoming. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and my prayers will be with you in the days ahead.

I still can't believe the news. I had ran into him at the bus stop just last week. He was such a wonderful person. We both lived in the same neighborhood so sometimes we'd hang out after class and do homework together at Uptown Espresso. He always greeted you with a smile, ask you how your day was, and was always caring. I know he will be greatly missed. My condolences go out to his family.

I keep thinking back to our graphic design club portland trip, and Will always shaking his head at us because we acted like children most of the time. and that always cracked me up.

but i got to know him a little bit more on that trip. he was a genuine, kind, soul. he asked questions that really mattered to him, he always tried to better his craft, the definition of a hard worker. soft spoken, polite, and a gentleman.

he will definitely be missed. love and thoughts to his friends and family

Will was definitely one of my favorite people at the Art Institute. We would go back and forth about him being short and me being an Amazonian woman. I was the only one he would let call him midget in club :)

We led club together for a long time and spent a lot of time trying to come up with ways to get others involved. He was dedicated to helping create an environment where we can work as a group and learn from one another.

He is definitely one of the most caring people I have ever met. I'm so stunned to hear about his death...in shock really. Will was selfless, respectful, friendly and compassionate. He was such a great guy.

I think one of my favorite things about Will was that our first conversations upon seeing each other were always about our nephews. Both did we have a lot to talk about!

I will miss Will a lot. My heart goes out to his family.

This is one of those incredibly tragic moments where, no matter what words I am able to conjure up, they can neither express my sadness nor my sympathy. While it may sound cliche', Will truly was one of kind. That unique mix of a kind heart, inquiring mind and design talent oozing out of his every pore. I consider myself fortunate for having as many classes with him as I did.
Will truly was loved by most everyone at AI and I think I speak for most people when I say the Bonica family has our deepest sympathies. RIP Will; one day you can give me crap about my type choices again. I'll miss ya buddy.

I never really hung out or talked with Will but was in a few of his classes at the Art Institute and I could tell from afar that he was a very kind person to everyone. He was also professional with his work and a great artist and designer. He will be greatly missed and my condolences to his family.

My broken heart goes out to William's family and friends.
As his instructor in many classes at The Art Institute of Seattle, it was William's personality that always lifted my spirits and inspired me. Whether in the classroom or in the hallways, every moment with him was positive, motivating, warm, creative, humorous, and above all caring and genuine.
While in my Portfolio class working on his self-promotional material, he coined the brilliant term that makes any graphic designer laugh out loud, "Finding Homes for Orphans and Widows".
He will be dearly missed by all, yet its William’s inspirational memories that will continue to lift my spirits and others of our precious shared time together.

Hearing this breaks my heart. Will was one of those people that when I saw him I could do nothing but smile, he was always so kind, nice and giving he never hesitated to give a helping hand. When I think of Will the image that pops in to my head is his big beautiful grin with a suave hat on. He will be missed. My condolences and prayers go out to his close friends and family.

I am deeply saddened by this terrible news. When we were crossing our paths in the classroom, in the hallways or at club, Will was always greeting me with a nice smile and positive energy. He was a talented artist and designer and a great addition to the design community. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and my condolences go out to his family.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to know Will as much as I would have liked. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He always offered to help me out with my table in class and always had a smile on his face whenever we'd see each other in the hallways. The world needs more people like Will. I am sad and very sorry to learn about his passing. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

My Man Will. What a sad shock. He was a great spirit in my digital illustration class. Always engaged and available to help other students. The AIS family has lost a precious friend.
